Losing a loved one is something we cannot escape. It brings grief, sometimes for a long time, and it confronts us with our own mortality. Death makes us painfully aware of the transience of life.

According to our Christian understanding, however, we believe that death does not have the last word. Our faith gives us strength to face death and lets us hope for and trust that life reaches beyond the grave into eternity. Words and hymns from the Christian tradition provide us with comfort, calm and hope. They help us when someone dies and through times of bereavement.
