Dietrich Bonhoeffer - Radical Witness in Challenging Times

Eighty years ago, the Lutheran theologian and pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer was executed in Flossenbürg concentration camp. He was part of the active resistance against Hitler. Bonhoeffer remains a fascinating theologian and is remembered for his resistance to evil to this day. Further, he made a name for himself far beyond the boundaries of the Lutheran Church, especially in the sphere of ecumenism which was central to his life and work.

To mark the 80th anniversary of his death, the Lutheran Church in Ireland together with the German Embassy in Dublin will hold an afternoon event:

We are delighted that Dr Matthew D. Kirkpatrick (University of Oxford) will deliver the key note talk. He is a profound expert on Bonhoeffer in the English-speaking world.
