Every year we celebrate the International Lutheran Service on Pentecost Sunday. This year too, the service was a special highlight in the life of our church. The service was led by Pastor Imants Miezis (Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church Worldwide), Pastor Wojciech Froehlich (Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland) and Lead Pastor Florian von Issendorff, Pastor Martin Sauter and Dr Gesa Thiessen (The Lutheran Church in Ireland). This meant that all organised Lutheran communities in Ireland were represented.

The service was also intended to show the diversity of our members, who come from all over the world. The service was therefore celebrated in 17 languages, with English, German, Latvian and Polish being the most frequently heard.

On Pentecost, the world was at home in St Finian's. And we celebrated that we are united by God's Spirit across all linguistic and cultural boundaries and called to build his church here in Ireland together.
